Privacy Policy
Read how PDFForge handles local PDF processing, advertising, cookies, and voluntary contact emails. Understand what stays on your device and what does not.
Updated October 26, 2026. This policy describes PDFForge's browser-based document tools, site resources, advertising, and voluntary contact. It applies to this website, not to services you visit through external links.
PDFs, images, text, and summaries
Selected documents and images are processed locally in your browser. The tool code does not intentionally upload those inputs to a processing server, save them to a database, or send them to an AI provider. Typed text and extracted summary passages remain in the current page unless you download, copy, or share them. Clearing the tool removes its displayed inputs; downloaded files remain wherever your device stores them. The summarizer is extractive and has no generative AI service connection.
Network requests and technical information
Loading this website still makes requests for pages, fonts, libraries, and other resources. Netlify and resource providers may receive ordinary request information such as IP addresses, browser details, and requested URLs, according to their services and policies. Some existing tools load third-party CDN resources and Google Analytics. These requests are different from intentionally uploading the document content selected in a tool. Do not assume that local PDF processing means the whole website makes no external requests.
Adsterra advertising and cookies
PDFForge includes Adsterra native and banner ads, popunder advertising, and a social bar. These third-party scripts make network requests and may use cookies or similar technologies and technical information such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver and measure advertising. Popunder ads may open another browser window or tab. Review Adsterra’s privacy policy for information about its data practices and choices. Browser controls may let you limit cookies and popups.
Consent and advertising choices
If a consent message is shown, use it to accept or refuse the choices offered and revisit its privacy controls when available. Browser cookie and popup settings provide additional controls, but do not necessarily stop every network request. If you cannot find a privacy control or believe advertising is appearing without a required choice, contact us with the page address and your country or region. Do not include your document contents.
Contact emails
The contact page uses mailto links rather than submitting a hidden form. If you email PDFForge, your address and message are handled by the email services involved and may be retained so the inquiry can be answered. Do not send confidential PDFs, identity documents, passwords, or unnecessary personal records. The site does not promise that voluntarily emailed information is never stored.
Storage and retention
The document tools do not create a server-side archive of selected files. Outputs you download remain on your device until you delete them. Hosting logs, advertising identifiers, and analytics data are handled by the relevant service providers under their settings and policies; local document processing does not delete those records. Emails may remain in the correspondence history while an inquiry is handled and as needed for follow-up or legal obligations.
Children and sensitive information
PDFForge is a general-purpose document utility, not a service directed at children under 13. We do not ask children to create accounts or provide personal profiles. If you believe a child has sent personal information through email, contact us to request review and deletion where applicable. Avoid sending health records, government IDs, financial account details, or other sensitive information in a support message.
Privacy requests and policy changes
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information. Send a request through Contact Us describing the information you provided and the action requested. Do not attach identity documents unless a secure verification method has been agreed. Requests about data held by Google or another provider may also need to be made directly to that provider. Changes to our practices are reflected on this page with an updated date.
Your choices and questions
Use copies of documents, avoid processing sensitive material on shared devices, review browser downloads, and clear files from shared storage when appropriate. For questions about this policy or a request concerning information you voluntarily provided, use Contact Us. Also review the Terms of Service and Disclaimer.
